Perspective
Sometimes we live our life in a way that is is like a horse with blinkers on, or where we can’t see the forest for the trees. We may be living with underlying feelings of shame from things done to us in the past or from the guilt of things we have done. We may be thinking that we have been doing it tough or we’re the victim or why do these things always happen to me?

We are sometime in such a mind rut that we are blind to reality. We begin to form habits both in the way we think and in the way we behave that are negative in nature. Sometimes it takes a bit of a shaking up to bring us back to reality and see things from a new perspective, a real perspective.
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
Pauls urges us to train our own mind to think on things that are good and right and true. These are the things that will bring happiness and compassion and love. All of these things will if nothing else bring us into a more fulfilled life. A life that others also want to be a part of.
I have included a video here that touched me, that gave me a little shake. It may be disturbing but it should help you re-think what you have in your life.
